ABC’s “The Rookie” Star Melissa O’Neil is mourning the death of her dog on the one year anniversary!
She took to Instagram to share a very heartfelt post and we’re feeling the sadness right along with her.
Melissa shared:
“Today marks one year since Herc passed.
I miss my bubbaloo so much. I wanted to create a little tribute of him on this online time capsule but, honestly, looking at all the pictures and videos of him has me all torn up.
I love you, Bubz and I miss you so much.
For me – adopting Herc, an older and clearly deeply loved surrendered pitbull was one of the best, hardest, happiest, and heart breaking passages to move through. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I only wish we could have had more time together. #cancersucks”

ABC boasts “The Rookie” as the No. 1 show among Adults 18-49 this season in its new Tuesday night programming block at 8 p.m. After making the transition in January, the series has seen an increase of 40% in Total Viewers and by 17% in the key 18-49 demo over the previous season’s comparable weeks. Additionally, the drama is up almost 6 times over its initial Live+Same Day rating in Adults 18-49 with a lift of 426% after 35 days of multiplatform viewing — meaning the series currently bests its prior season by 6% in Total Viewers and by 9% among Adults 18-49 after delayed multiplatform viewing.
